Capturing Snippets of Good Stuff

At Stand Tall, we've set out to increase access to the skills, tools and mindset of entrepreneurship to more young people. Too many young people just don’t get the opportunity to participate in and shape innovation.

Are you passionate about business and innovation, and dedicated to empowering young people in the Bay of Plenty region? An exciting opportunity awaits you at Stand Tall, a non-profit organisation committed to fostering and developing the entrepreneurial skills and mindset of individuals aged 15 to 24.

Each year well over 4000 Kiwi ākonga around Aotearoa form teams to participate in the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES). This year in the Western Bay of Plenty, students from schools across the Bay of Plenty created and ran 27 new companies, completing a series of challenges including validation, promotion, sales and pitching.

The Young Enterprise Scheme has just wrapped up for 2023 with 27 teams of entrepreneurs from five secondary schools across the Western Bay of Plenty.

Teachers do play a great role in opening doors to a wealth of opportunities for their ākonga. Their input and enthusiasm oftentime contribute to changing young people's lives. One such teacher is Steph Davids, at Te Puke High School.

Over 100 students of Western Bay Of Plenty, across five colleges have just wrapped up a successful and impactful year in business. Our innovative, creative and entrepreneurial Ākonga have risen to the challenge, finding solutions to the problems within our community.
